Vast Business and Entrepreneurial Experience

Since 2010, Debra Banks has served as a marketing research manager at Wellpoint/Anthem Insurance, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia. She researches trends, conducts analysis and recommends strategic actions that further the development of profitable membership.

Financial Analysis and Project Management Skills

To build her new Big Mouth Direct franchise, Banks will draw on her financial analysis and project management skills. She was the director of financial operations at Alliance Group Consulting, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia, from 2001 to 2007. In this role, Banks also conducted financial analysis and project management to create strategic plans and recommendations on various entrepreneurial initiatives for a consortium of investors. The following were some of her achievements:

  • Developed prototype and operated start-up for a personal care franchise operation. Met 96% of first year projected profit.
  • Recruited and developed team leaders for two businesses.
  • Designed sales and operational training guides for two enterprises. Conducted training sessions for team that increased sales by 100% in second year.

Education and Key Strengths

Banks has a bachelor of science in business administration, with a concentration in finance, from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce. She also completed a master of business administration degree at the University of Virginia, Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. Her business education supports experience-based skills in the following areas:
